DESCRIPTION:

Vetprofen contains Carprofen, which relieves the inflammation and pain associated with arthritis and manages the pain associated with orthopedic or soft tissue surgery.

Key Benefits: This NSAID is non-narcotic, and it relieves inflammation and pain as it decreases the hormones responsible for the bothersome symptoms.

Formulated For: Intended for dogs 6 weeks and older.

How is Medication Given?

  • To control pain after an operation, administer about 2 hours prior to procedure.
  • Calculate dosage rate in increments of half-caplets. These caplets are pre-scored.
  • Administer the full daily dose at a rate of 2 mg per pound of body weight, or divide to administer 1 mg per pound two times each day.
  • Recommended oral dosage rate is 2 mg per pound of body weight administered once per day.
  • Read the entire product information pamphlet before use.

    What Results Can I Expect? This NSAID (non-steroidalanti-inflammatory drug) helps relieve the inflammation and pain associated with joint conditions like hip dysplasia or arthritis. It can also be used to reduce fevers, and to treat the inflammation and pain associated with surgery. The beef flavor makes administration easy.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Tablet

    Dose and Administration: Tablets are sold individually in 25, 75, or 100 mg strengths.

    Possible Side Effects: NSAIDs are known to cause gastrointestinal disturbances, including:

  • Pancreatitis
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Gastrointestinal ulcers
  • Hematemesis
  • Melena
  • Inappetence
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting

    Precautions:

  • Never administer to a dog with a prior adverse reaction to this medication.
  • Seek medical treatment if a human consumes this product.
  • Only for use in dogs.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool/dry place between 15 degrees C and 30 degrees C (59 degrees F and 86 degrees F).
