DESCRIPTION:

Quellin Soft Chewable Tablets are useful in treating pain and inflammation associated with arthritis, joint disease, and hip dysplasia. They can also reduce fevers.

Key Benefits: Using Carprofen, an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) ingredient, Quellin delivers analgesic and antipyretic benefits that are equipotent to Indomethacin in animals.

Formulated For: For use in dogs.

How is Medication Given?

  • Ensure that your dog has consumed the full dose.
  • These soft chews can be split in half easily - just hold either side of the pre-scored line, then press down the middle.
  • These pre-scored tablets allow for accurate dosing down to the half-tablet.
  • Administer a single, full dose of 2 mg per pound of body weight one time daily, or as a twice-daily dose of 1 mg per pound.
  • To control pain after an operation, administer about 2 hours prior to the procedure.
  • Recommended daily dosage rate for dogs is 2 mg per pound of body weight each day.
  • The lowest possible dose should be administered for the shortest possible duration to achieve the desired response.
  • The risks and benefits of carprofen and alternative treatments should be weighed carefully before use.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Chewable Tablet

    Dose and Administration: Sold as a single tablet, a 30-count bottle, a 2-pack of 30-count bottles (60 tablets total), or a 120-count bottle in 25, 75, or 100 mg strengths.

    Possible Side Effects: The most frequently reported reactions are stomach-related, such as kidney problems, liver problems, or bleeding ulcers. Other potential adverse reactions include:

  • Changes in skin (redness, scratching, or scabbing)
  • Changes in urination habits (frequency, color, or smell)
  • Changes in drinking habits (increased or decreased frequency and volume consumed)
  • Decreased or increased activity
  • Aggression
  • Seizures
  • Diarrhea
  • Bloody, black, or tarry stools
  • Decreased or increased appetite
  • Vomiting

    Precautions This product is not intended as an osteoarthritis cure, but it does decrease pain and inflammation and improve mobility in dogs. Never administer concomitantly with NSAIDs (including aspirin, meloxicam, firocoxib, deracoxib, tepoxalin, or etodolac) or steroids (including dexamethasone, triamcinolone, cortisone, or prednisone).
