About this item
DESCRIPTION:

Novox uses Carprofen to treat the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis, hip dysplasia, and other joint diseases. It is also useful in reducing fevers.

Key Benefits: Novox contains Carprofen, a non-narcotic, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) that is analgesic and antiypretic. It is equipotent to Indomethacin.

Formulated For: For use in dogs 6 weeks of age or more.

How is Medication Given?

  • Administer 1 mg per pound of body weight twice daily or 2 mg per pound once daily to dogs over the age of 6 weeks.
  • Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.

What Results Can I Expect? Novox is:

  • Useful in reducing fevers related to viral or bacterial infections
  • An NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug)
  • A generic alternative to Rimadyl
  • An easy-to-administer, chewable tablet
  • Useful in controlling pain associated with arthritis

What Form Does Medication Come In? Chewable Tablet

Dose and Administration: Sold in a 30-count, 60-count, or 180-count bottle of caplets in 25, 75, or 100 mg strengths.

Possible Side Effects: NSAIDs like Novox are cyclooxygenase-inhibiting. They are associated with gastrointestinal and renal toxicity, possibly because of the cyclooxygenase inhibition and decreased prostaglandin production. They work to form arachidonic acid with prostaglandin.

Precautions: Do not use in dogs with prior Carprofen hypersensitivity. Never administer to a cat. Never use in a pregnant or nursing pet. Keep out of reach of children.

Storage Recommendations: Do not freeze. Store in a cool and dry location 15-30 degrees C (59- 86 degrees F)

In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic.
