About this item
DESCRIPTION:

Carprofen is useful in treating the inflammation and pain associated with hip dysplasia, arthritis, and other joint diseases in dogs. It can also reduce fevers.

Key Benefits: Like other NSAID medications, Carprofen is thought to work by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase.

Formulated For: For dogs.

How is Medication Given? These pre-scored caplets allow for half-caplet dosing. To control pain after an operation, administer about 2 hours prior to the surgery. Total daily dosage rate may be given as 2 mg per pound of body weight one time daily, or as two doses of 1 mg per pound each. Typical recommended oral dosage rate for dogs is 2 mg per pound of body weight each day. The lowest possible dose should be administered for the shortest period of time to achieve the desired response. Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.

What Results Can I Expect? Carprofen is used to relieve the inflammation and pain caused by osteoarthritis, and to control pain after orthopedic or soft tissue surgery in dogs.
