DESCRIPTION:

Rimadyl uses Carprofen to treat pain and inflammation associated with joint diseases like arthritis and hip dysplasia.

    How is Medication Given?

  • To control pain after an operation, administer about 2 hours prior to procedure.
  • Your veterinarian may recommend one daily dose, or a divided dose of 1 mg per pound administered twice each day.
  • Recommended daily oral dose is 2 mg per pound of body weight administered daily.

    What Results Can I Expect? Rimadyl is an easy-to-administer, FDA-approved medication that is safe to administer long-term to relieve canine joint pain.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Caplets

    Dose and Administration: Sold in 30-count, 60-count, or 180-count bottles in caplet strengths of 25, 75, or 100 mg.

    Possible Side Effects: Familiarize yourself with the signs of drug rejection or sensitivity, which include:

  • Changes in Behavior
  • Seizures
  • Incoordination
  • Lethargy
  • Jaundice-Related Yellow Eyes, Skin, or Gums
  • Anemia-Related Pale Gums
  • Increased Urination
  • Increased Water Consumption

    Storage Recommendations: Do not freeze. Store in a cool and dry location 15-30 degrees C (59- 86 degrees F)
