    DESCRIPTION:

    Dicloxacillin Sodium is a potent, broad-spectrum antibiotic from the penicillin class. It combats bacterial infections, and the capsules are easy to administer.

    Dose and Administration: Capsules are sold individually in strengths of 250 or 500 mg.

    Possible Side Effects: Penicillin is associated with (generally) non-severe reactions with relatively low recurrence risk. Hypersensitivity is also possible, with signs to include:

  • Rash
  • Fever
  • Seizures
  • Anemia
  • Anaphylaxis

    Orally-administered Penicillin can also cause certain gastrointestinal effects, including:

  • Diarrhea (and potential colon superinfection due to altered gut flora)
  • Anorexia
  • Vomiting

    Precautions:

  • Keep away from children and animals.
  • This product should only be used to treat bacterial infections. It does not treat viral infections, such as the common cold.
  • Directions should be strictly followed to treat bacterial infections.
  • Missing a dose or not completing the full therapy course may decrease product efficacy. This increases the odds of bacterial resistance, which means that the bacteria are no longer susceptible to this medication or any other antibacterials.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry environment between temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees C (68 to 77 degrees F).
