DESCRIPTION:

Metronidazole Tablets are used to treat anaerobic infections. This antibiotic treatment acts has an anti-inflammatory effect on the large intestine, and it can also be used to treat diarrhea.

Dose and Administration: Tablets are sold individually in strengths of 250 mg or 500 mg.

Possible Side Effects: If your pet shows signs of a non-severe reaction, including the following, continue treatment and consult your vet:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Imbalance
  • Dry mouth
  • Cough
  • Sneezing
  • Runny nose

    If your pet shows signs of a potentially severe reaction, contact a veterinarian right away:

  • Seizures
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Lip or mouth sores
  • Watery diarrhea
  • Bloody diarrhea

    If your pet shows signs of an allergic reaction, pursue emergency treatment:

  • Hives
  • Trouble breathing
  • Facial swelling
  • Lip swelling
  • Tongue swelling
  • Throat swelling

    Precautions:

  • In certain volumes, this medication can be excreted via breast milk. Therefore, it should not be given to a lactating animal.
  • Birth defects occurred in lab testing. Therefore, this medication should not be given to a pregnant animal, especially in her first trimester.
  • Never administer to a young puppy or kitten.
  • Do not administer or administer a lower dose (cautiously) to an animal with kidney or liver disease.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry environment. Do not expose to extreme heat.

    In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic immediately.
