Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good gravel Its good. When you first buy it wash the gravel until you have a clear water, not cloudy water. Algae can grow on the rocks over the years so about every couple months i flip the top section of the rocks over or take them out and dry them in the sun for 3 days to kill all the algae that is on the rocks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Natural Beauty This smaller gravel gives you a very nice natural looking base to your aquarium. I myself enjoy more realistic layouts and the small size of these pebbles look great in 5 gallon or smaller tanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful gravel for a natural look. I love this natural gravel so much after using it in my 10-gallon aquarium, that I have just put it in my new 30-gallon tank. This is definitely a natural look, like small river pebbles. Most of the pebbles are smooth, no sharp edges.

I'm planning on starting a betta sorority and I was wondering if I could have some recommendations on how often to clean/replace the substrate due to having more fish in one tank.

Asked by: Please help
Well it depends on how big your tank is and how many fish you're going to have in it, also on what kind of plants you have and how much waste they produce. I would say maybe clean them completely off every month or so.. and if there's any sick problems with the fish I would clean a little more often than that.
