DESCRIPTION: Nuflor Florfenicol is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective against many kinds of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. It is primarily bacteriostatic, and it binds itself to the 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
Key Benefits:
Nuflor kills Mannheimia haemolytica and Histophilus somni, two of the main bacteria that cause bovine respiratory disease. It begins killing bacteria within only 30 minutes, and it eliminates 99.9% of bacteria within 24 hours. It keeps killing bacteria for a 68-hour period, and it keeps inhibiting bacterial growth for a 96-hour period. It is also effective in inhibiting the third main BRD-causing bacteria, Pasteurella multocida.
Formulated For: For cattle use only.

What Form Does Medication Come In? Injectable
Dose and Administration: Sold in 100 mL, 250 mL, or 500 mL vials, each containing 300 mg per mL.
Possible Side Effects: Potential adverse reactions include:
Anaphylaxis Collapse Transient inappetence Diarrhea Decreased water consumption Injection site swelling
Precautions:
Do not administer to a breeding animal. Effects and safety for use in reproducing, pregnant, or lactating bovine are unproven. Testicular degeneration and atrophy I have been reported in toxicity studies in dogs, rats, and mice treated with this medication. Subcutaneous injections can cause short term reactions resulting in edible tissue trim loss following slaughter. Never slaughtering animals for food use within 44 days after the final treatment. Never administer to a female dairy cow over 20 months old, as milk residues can result. There has not been a milk withdrawal period established for use in pre-ruminating calves. Do not administer to a veal calf.
Storage Recommendations: Keep between 36 degrees and 86 degrees F (2 degrees and 30 degrees C).
In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency Veterinary Clinic.
