  • Useful in treating seizures associated with hepatic encephalopathy
  • A great option for dogs and cats whose seizure condition is not controlled by Phenobarbital or Bromides (like 60-70% of dogs and cats)
  • An add-on medication

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Tablet

    Dose and Administration: Tablets are sold individually in 250, 500, 750, and 1000 mg strengths.

    Possible Side Effects: Levetiracetam is not associated with a large number of side effects. The most frequently reported reaction is drowsiness, as with any seizure control medication. Cats may experience temporary inappetence.

    Precautions Administer cautiously to an animal with decreased kidney function. Dosage rate and administration frequency might need to be adjusted. Withdraw treatment gradually to prevent seizures during medication withdrawal. This medication should only be administered to a pregnant animal when a veterinarian has carefully weighed the risks and benefits. Lab animals showed increased embryonic and fetal loss.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a dry and cool environment 15-30 degrees C (59 degrees- 86 degrees F).

    In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic immediately.
