    DESCRIPTION:

    Ondansetron, the generic alternative to Zofran, treats many conditions, such as vomiting. It is formulated for use in dogs and cats, and it can be particularly beneficial for animals who are vomiting after chemotherapy. It also treats sleep apnea and itching (pruritus) in certain cases.

    Possible Side Effects: This medication is used off-label in veterinary medicine because it is well-tolerated. Potential adverse reactions include:

  • Extrapyramidal clinical signs (like head shaking)
  • Hypotension
  • Arrhythmias
  • Constipation
  • Sedation

    Precautions:
