DESCRIPTION VIOKASE-V contains whole, activated, raw pancreas. This pancreatic enzyme concentrate has a porcine origin, and it contains standardized amylase, esterases, protease, lipase, peptidases, nucleases, and elastase to treat pancreatic insufficiency.
Key Benefits:
Viokase combines digestive enzymes to aid in bodily digestion of protein, starch, and fat. It is used in pets who do not produce sufficient enzymes or do not produce them at all.
Formulated For: Intended for cats and dogs.
How is Medication Given?
1 Teaspoon of VIOKASE-V Powder contains enough pancreatic enzymes to digest 460 grams of starch, 388 grams of protein, and 260 grams of fat (in vitro). Combine with moistened dry or canned dog food, mixing thoroughly to allow for close contact between enzymes and particles of food. Incubate the mixture at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes prior to feeding to enhance digestion. Feed a minimum of 3 times each day. For dogs, administer 3/4 Teaspoon to 1 Teaspoon with every meal. For cats, administer 1/4 Teaspoon to 3/4 Teaspoon with every meal. Dosage rates should be adjusted to account for the individual pet's needs, his or her weight, and the severity of their pancreatic exocrine deficiency case. Certain chronic cases may require an increase in dosage to obtain desired results.

Aids in digestion by absorbing fats, proteins, and carbohydrates Helps treat pancreatic insufficiency Helps treat maldigestion syndrome Is easy to administer in your pet's food Is an effective choice for enzyme replacement therapy
