    DESCRIPTION:

    Famotidine Oral Suspension USP is used in dogs and cats to treat stomach, gastric, or intestinal ulcers. It can also help dogs with kidney failure recover from related gastric reflux and stomach inflammation. It is the generic alternative to Pepcid.

    Key Benefits:

  • It is a histamine receptor 2 blocker, which means that it prevents gastric acid secretion by blocking these receptors.
  • Gastric acid secretes when there are H-2 receptors in stimulated stomach cells.

    How is Medication Given? This product must be combined with water before use. Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Oral Suspension

    Dose and Administration: Sold in a bottle containing 50 mL.

    Possible Side Effects: Adverse reactions are uncommon with Famotidine use, but could include decreased appetite and drowsiness. If you observe these or any other reaction, consult your vet at once.

    Precautions: Talk to your veterinarian before administering Famotidine to your pet. Administer cautiously to pregnant pets or those with heart, liver, or kidney disease. Drug interactions are possible when administered concomitantly with Digoxin or Ketoconazole.

    Storage Recommendations: Store at room temperature between 2 degrees to 25 degrees C (36 degrees to 77 degrees F).

    In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic.
