Ask a store associate for details. Gouramis are hardy fish that are popular with fish keepers because of their unique coloration and patterns. They work best in a semi-aggressive community aquarium. They are compatible with other community fish, as well as angelfish, discus and other non-aggressive cichlids. Remember, only one male gourami per community. You will see your gouramis swimming in the middle and at the top of your aquarium. To create a beautiful aquarium environment, be sure to add some bottom swimmers as well. Ask a PetSmart associate to help you choose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fish! I bought 3 gouramis total for my 29 gallon tank. Two oplaine, and one blue. They all get along fairly well. However, I have two males and one female, so sometimes the big boy chases the others. They are beautiful fish and fun to watch! They get extremely excited during feeding time lol! I reccomend :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fish I've had my blue gourami purchased at petco for about 6 months now. He's in a small tank -10 gallon but he's the only one in there except a Nerite snail, lightly planted, fish is thriving!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice fish. mine are doing well.no problems w/other fish after other fish got used to them.a couple of the other fish created a short problem but they are all doing well now.i recall that the male of the gourami has a longer, pointed fin on the back where as the female has a more round, shorter fin.they will eat various foods and are known to go to water surface and take in air because by nature, they are from brackish, low oxygen water environment.these fish are nice.i'm now looking for a pair of gold or another type that are colorful.these fish are very mellow but can grow large.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from VERY Aggressive with other male gourami & angels The male gourami is NOT compatible with each other and definitely not with angel fish. Fortunately, I can return them to the store since it was within the 14 day period. They are beautiful but can be very aggressive. It is highly published on this site that two males should not be together so that was my mistake. I separated them into two tanks. Then I was told angels can exit with gouramis WRONG. Tried to put the angel fish into both tanks immediately each of the gourami's attacked it vehemently. I can recommend this fish with a lot of caution and this is coming from someone who kept cichlids. They say the dwarf gouramis are peaceful and won't do that.
