Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Weak I bought the smallest size crate for my chihuahua/rate terrier mix. She only weighs 10 lbs - this is important. We tested it out while we were at home, and she did fine, but when we left her alone just to go out for lunch, she busted the side door (garage-type door) completely off of the crate. It's supposed to be for dogs up to 30 pounds, and it's obvious that my girl wasn't happy to be in the crate, but a 10-lb chihuahua shouldn't be able to knock down the door. Poor quality and a difficult-to-clean inside, too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from We purchased the large crate for our goldendoodle puppy. At 4 1/2 months old she was able to push her way out of the crate breaking several of the side clips. Even after using zip ties on the corners and bungee cords over the doors, she is still able to get out of the crate. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Escapable We purchased this product when we brought home a dog from the SPCA. We liked the design and the options. Our dog was fine with this kennel for about two months. Then he decided he would not stay in the kennel when we left the house. At first I thought that we must have forgotten to close the cage correctly. But after several escapes and some chewed up shoes we figured out he was definitely the problem. From what I can tell, the way the latches are designed, our dog was able to nose them down when he's also pushing on the door. You can't push them down with direct downward pressure. If you flex them towards the outside of the kennel, the latch part moves enough that it can be pushed down. Because the kennel has doors on either end and a side door we tried to block the ends of the kennel and just use the big side door. The latches for the side door are not accessible from inside the kennel so i figured that should do the trick. No such luck. The first time we came home after the switch he had popped the side door off its tracks and was sitting on the couch. Needless to say, if your dog is an escape artist, this kennel is not the best choice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Working OK so far... I purchased this crate about 4 months ago with the intention of just using it during a few annual trips with my dogs. My 75lb. Australian Shepherd does not require a crate but my 40 lb. Border Collie mix that I adopted from the SPCA can be unpredictable when not monitored so this purchase was for her. She developed a nasty habit of tearing the curtains down when no people were at home so I've started using this crate on a daily basis. The plastic clips that hold all of the doors in place have not cracked yet but I fear that they will now that I use this crate more often. I think PetGear should redesign the clips and use metal instead to ensure durability. After reading the reviews on this crate I've been very gentle when putting it together and taking it apart to avoid breaking the plastic pieces. Luckily my BC mix doesn't mind going in the crate and seems pretty calm. She's not tried to escape, yet. If you are going to purchase this crate, do so only if you have a very calm dog and make sure to be careful with the plastic clips.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for small dogs. I have a 15lb Havanese and wanted a crate that didn't look like "doggie jail". Everything about this crate is great. The 4 doors are convenient. Our dog is skittish around my husband, so the door on top works great when my husband needs to get to the dog without it escaping! We haven't experienced any trouble with the "flimsiness" that other customers have commented on (we have owned this for 3 months.) The dog loves the crate and always goes directly to it after he has come in from being outdoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a more "friendly" crate We purchased this crate about a month ago. We had tried crate training our puggle when we first got him, but he hated it so much and the crate we had was big, bulky, and just looked like a jail cell. When we got this one he was hesitant at first, but we were able to open one of the longer sides and have it against the wall (out of the way) and the door opens like a hinge and then slides in the top, making a nice little den for him when we are home. Because it has so many different options to open it, you can put it anywhere. Definatly worth a little extra expense.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic parts break We have had this crate for only a month and the plastic track that holds the door has already broken. Sure the grates are metal, but the rest is plastic. It looks great, but performance is really lacking. If you buy this, better buy some super glue also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy this crate My French Bulldog can push open the crate. There is only two clips securing it and a medium sized dog can push it open by breaking or bending the clips. Not worth the money.
