How is Medication Given? Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.
What Results Can I Expect: SevoFlo is a beneficial, inhalable anesthetic.
What Form Does Medication Come In? Liquid
Dose and Administration: Sold as a 250 mL bottle.
Possible Side Effects: Potential adverse reactions include (from least to most common):
Transient elevated white blood cell counts Transient elevated liver function test results Excessive cardiopulmonary depression Premature ventricular contraction Cyanosis Salivation Retching Paddling Emesis Muscle fasciculations Apnea Excitation Muscle tension Tachypnea Hypotension
Precautions:
Do not use in conjunction with potassium hydroxide with CO2 absorbents. Because this drug offers low blood solubility, an increase in concentration can cause rapid changes in depth of anesthesia, as well as hemodynamic changes in comparison with other volatile anesthetics. Respiratory depression or excessive blood pressure decreases may be corrected by decreasing Sevoflurane concentration or withdrawing use. Cardiovascular depression could occur, requiring treatment with plasma expanders, pressors, antiarrhythmics, and other techniques. Withdraw use if severe cardiopulmonary depression is noted. The patient's airway should be confirmed to be open, and assisted or controlled oxygen ventilation should be initiated. This medication is known to be a respiratory depressant. Because it offers dose-dependent, rapid anesthetic depth changes, respiration should always be monitored closely, and ventilation or oxygen support should be administered as required.
Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry location.
In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic immediately.
