product highlights

Staurogyne repens is a great stem plant that can be planted in the foreground areas of an aquarium. Its low growth habit and strong roots allow it to also attach to driftwood or rocks in your aquarium. Staurogyne repens performs best under high light conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I'm really happy that petsmart finally carries a few new brand of aquarium plants. This plant is pretty neat itself. The portion you get is good. I purchased one pack for my 2.5 gallon aquarium and was able to break the plant apart in to 10+ little plants. My substrate is sand so the tiny rooted plants stay put and snug. Many people lose plants and money due to insufficient knowledge. So the best advice I can give anyone when purchasing aquarium plants is please do some research first, it will definitely save you time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this will work I bought this plant for my 50 gal tank yesterday evening to replace the plastic stuff i have in there, uploaded a couple pics , hope this works. I'm going for a natural look to my aquarium, I have a 24/7 Finnex planter + LED light which I love because of the day/night cycle it has so I thought I should try some live plants, the first lot I planted (the name eludes me) a couple of weeks ago are doing great up in my retaining wall section so I thought I would try something along the flat area, I removed the fake tall grass, dug a 8 inch long trench down to my under gravel filter put about an inch of new gravel down, slipped a couple of nutrient pills under the gravel to help boost the plants and broke up the plants into small clumps, held them down with one hand and back filled with gravel and river rock. The instruction are very easy to follow and the non-toxic silicon wrapped around the roots is easy to remove under luke warm water, the Plants look to be in good shape even though the roots are very short, I didn't have too much trouble planting them, Most of my fish where very curious about the new additions to their home and investigated it very closely while I was planting, my Cory cats where the first to give them the taste test, then my Dalmatian mollies and green lanterns checked them out for a while, a couple of my neon tetras liked to rub up against the plants but none where up-rooted (We will see when I get home this afternoon) The plants look great and I like the fact that the plants are guaranteed to be pest and decease free, A Lot of other stores have snail issues which I just didn't want to deal with. fyi, when it comes to plants I have a black thumb, so fingers crossed. Next step is to build up a hill in the back right corner of my tank with large rock and gravel and lay in some ground cover and a few larger plants with a co2 setup, what a great hobby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carpeting Part of My Tank I bought and planted these S Repens a week ago. I was able to get around 15 stems that I could plant. They are hardy and easily propagated when they get taller. I am looking forward to seeingh how well they carpet my tank. Do your research and get planting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good plant, low quality This is a really great plant, but the quality wasn't the best. I got 30+ stems from the small packet after pruning and separating every stem, which I can't complain about. However, many of them were thin and yellow instead of lush and green. Luckily, mine grew extremely well, mostly due to the ideal conditions in my tank. I have seachem root tabs, and good lighting, which really made the plants flourish. Within a week, they already look much, much better. I'd advise anyone looking to get these plants to do their research and treat these plants properly. Otherwise, the plants will probably die fairly quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Despite the picture it looks great if you have ever tried to grow dwarf hairgrass this is the smae thing but easier to plant and has little clover leaves on it. from what i have hear you can carpet this pretty well and its looks amazing. I needed a good background plant but this is only 3 i.n. at the moment but it does look great. i have 3 ghost shrimp along with a gourami platy 2 albino cory catfish and 12 neons in a 20. i have some drift wood and a cave. the plant is great for the shrimp and i can put there food there and the other fish can eat there food or pick on them. i highly recomend this plant. i have posted a picture of what it really looks like because this picture for the product is way off. i am pretty expirenced with fish keeping been doing it for almost a yeah having a 10 and 20 gallon. the first picture the higher plant in the middle is it....the 2nd picture is what a carpet of it looks like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh I really liked this plant, it grew well, created lots of side shoots and it was unique. One day there was a dark green ring that started in the middle of my S. Repens carpet, the leaves melted and it spread and infected all the other S. Repens leaves. All the stems were fine, all other plants were fine. Once the stems grew their leaves back it happened again. I got frustrated and yanked them all out. I'm not sure of the cause, if that's what this plant does or if it was my fault. I recommend trying this plant as it is very beautiful especially when it carpets.
