Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Cavy Cuisine addresses the complete nutritional needs of adult guinea pigs. You can rely on this food to address the specific needs of your guinea pig as he moves through adulthood, and to help him maintain good health.

Features: Oxbow Essentials - Adult Guinea Pig Food is made from timothy grass meal, which includes the high fiber adult guinea pigs need. However, it contains a lower level of protein, calories and calcium than alfalfa-based pellets. The digestive systems of adult animals do not require the same level as that of younger animals. Essentials - Adult Guinea Pig contains stabilized Vitamin C and an optimal calcium-to-phosphorus ratio that helps maintain a healthy body. When fed with Oxbow grass hays and treats, Essentials - Adult Guinea Pig provides complete stabilized nutrition.

It is the healthiest food for them, as well my pigs will go through it so fast, which must mean it tastes pretty good. I will never get them eat anything else. It is pellet form and buyers beware of any other form of food. Pellets are the best for guinea pigs, because they can choke on seed food products. Even though it is a little more expensive than any other product, it is what you pay for. Most other foods have the main ingredient as Alfalfa. If guinea pigs eat too much Alfalfa, they can get very ill. The main ingredient in this food in Timothy Hay, which is very good for guinea pigs. This food also has an added vitamin C supplement in the feed, which gives it another plus. I seriously recommend this food for your adult guinea pig. In the past I have always chosen more 'colorful' fun looking foods that I guess looked more appetizing and appealing to me if I was a guinea pig. My boys thought differently.. They liked the food at first, but quickly got sick of it. So I decided to finally try a more 'plain' food thanks to my newest piggy Taz, that would only eat plain pellets. Turns out they like it more then any other brand I have given to them! It was incredible to see how happy they were! Trust me, your piggies will never get sick of this food! Not only is it a great quality food, but it's also healthy. Unlike the other brands that actually caused my pig Deuce's teeth to have a space between his two front teeth. Most likely from a sunflower seed or another hard piece of food from the other brands of food. Overall, this is the best guinea pig food on the market, and is well worth the price to make my piggies happy and healthy!(:
Date published: 2012-06-11

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pigglets12 from PERFECT Other foods have seeds and fatening foods that are bad for guinea pigs.
