    About this item
    DESCRIPTION

Thyrovet Equine Powder contains Levothyroxine Sodium to correct hypothyroidism (low circulating thyroid hormone) in ponies and horses.

Key Benefits: Thyrovet Equine Powder contains Levothyroxine Sodium to correct hypothyroidism (low circulating thyroid hormone) in ponies and horses.

Formulated For: Intended for ponies and horses.

    How is Medication Given?

  • Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.
  • Administer by combining the horse's daily dose in concentrated form, or top dress over the horse's daily grain ration (ground or rolled). To promote complete adhesion of powder to feed, moisten the grain slightly using liquid supplement or water.
  • Recommended initial dosage rate is 0.5 mg to 3 mg of T4 (Levothyroxine Sodium) for every 100 pounds of body weight daily. This can be divided or administered as a single daily dose.
  • Clinical evaluation of the animal's response to treatment is recommended until the proper dosage rate has been established.
  • Typically, the total dosage rate of T4 per day falls between 6 mg and 36 mg.
  • Because Serum T4 and Serum T4 values vary widely from one thyroid-supplemented horse to the next, dosage rates should be calculated on an individual basis, and each horse should be evaluated on a daily basis for symptoms of hypersensitivity or hyperthyroidism.

What Results Can I Expect: Levothyroxine Sodium is an easy-to-administer powder that treats hypothyroidism (low circulating thyroid hormone) symptoms in ponies and horses.
