    DESCRIPTION

    Prednisolone Acetate 1% Ophthalmic Suspension is useful in treating inflammation of the external parts of the eye.

    Key Benefits:

  • Prednisolone Acetate delivers 3 to 5 times the anti-inflammatory potency of Hydrocortisone.
  • This glucocorticoid drug works to inhibit phagocytic migration, edema, fibrin deposition, and capillary dilation, which contribute to an inflammatory response.
  • It also works to prevent capillary proliferation, deposition of collagen, and the formation of scars.

    Formulated For: Intended for horses, cats and dogs only.

    How is Medication Given?

  • Do not prematurely withdraw use.
  • Increase frequency as needed for the first 24-48 hours of treatment.
  • Instill 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye(s) 2 to 4 times each day. Apply to the conjunctival sac.
  • Shake thoroughly prior to use.

    What Results Can I Expect: Prednisolone Acetate is used to treat inflammation and painassociated with infection, surgery, or injury. It offers a convenient, easy-to-use dropper bottle top.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Liquid

    Dose and Administration: Sold in a dropper bottle containing 15 mL.

    Possible Side Effects:

  • Blurry vision may occur.
  • Prolonged administration can cause a number of side effects, including immune response suppression (and secondary ocular infections), vision field defects, visual acuity defects, posterior subcapsular cataract formation, optic nerve damage, or glaucoma.

    Precautions:

  • Tell your veterinarian about any other medications or eye drops your pet may be taking prior to initiating treatment with this product.
  • If you observe facial swelling, itching, or trouble breathing, pursue emergency treatment. These are signs of a potential allergic reaction.
  • Prevent infection by avoiding touching the opening of the dropper to any surface, including eyes or hands.

    Storage Recommendations: Keep temperature below 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Do not freeze and store in a upright position.

    In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic immediately.
