DESCRIPTION:

Spironolactone Tablets are used to treat unusually low levels of blood potassium, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, kidney disease, and liver disease. It is a potassium-sparing diuretic medication.

Formulated For: Intended for horses, cats and dogs only.

What Form Does Medication Come In? Tablet

Dose and Administration: Tablets are sold individually.

Possible Side Effects: If you observe a non-severe side effect, continue administering this medication and consult your veterinarian. These reactions include:

  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Decreased appetite
  • Dry mouth

    If you observe any of these side effects, withdraw use at once and pursue emergency treatment:

  • Allergic reaction (including trouble breathing, swollen lips, swollen tongue, swollen face, or hives)
  • Heartbeat irregularity
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Confusion
  • Weakness
  • Numbness
  • Decreased urination

    Other side effects are also possible. If your pet seems to be experiencing an unusual or bothersome reaction, consult your vet.

    Precautions:

  • Cautiously administer to pregnant pets, lactating pets, pets with liver disease, pets with blood electrolyte imbalances, or pets with uncontrolled diabetes.
  • Never administer to a pet who is not urinating or may be bred.
  • Never administer to an allergic pet or a pet with Addison's disease, acute kidney failure, severe kidney disease, or elevated potassium levels.

    Storage Recommendations Store in a cool and dry environment.

    In Case of Overdose: Call your nearest pet hospital.
