Usage: UltiCare VetRx UltiGuard Safe Packs should be used as directed by your veterinarian. Always follow your veterinarian's instructions, which will be specific to both your pet and their medication*. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule. *Please note: Pen needles are intended for use with prefilled pen injectors only (e.g., Lantus SoloStar). Please ensure your pet's medication is compatible with the ordered product. For general injectable use (aseptic technique): Aseptic technique refers to a set of practices designed to minimize the risk of contamination and infection during medical procedures. These practices can also be applied to the handling and administration of injectable medications to your pet to help reduce the risk of post-injection bacterial infections. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after administration. Use a new, sterile pen needle for each injection. Pen needles should never be reused. Do not touch the pen needle tip or rubber seal of the pen (once it has been wiped with alcohol) to any surface to avoid contamination. Adequately clean and disinfect the rubber seal of the pen with an alcohol swab, then allow it to dry before attaching the sterile pen needle. Do NOT turn the dose selector knob or press the injection button without a pen needle attached, as this may damage your pen. Select and administer the prescribed dose as directed by your veterinarian. Secure the needle using theouterneedle cap, then remove the pen needle. Do NOT put the inner needle cap back onto the needle. Exercise proper caution to prevent needlestick injury and risk of cross-infection. Dispose of the used pen needle into a proper sharps disposal container immediately after removal. Place the pen cap back onto the pen device. Do NOT store the pen device with a pen needle attached.
Precautions: For animal use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Always use a new, sterile pen needle for each injection. Reusing pen needles can result in incorrect dosage, contamination, and an increased risk of infection. Do not attempt to sterilize or reuse pen needles. Inspect the pen needle prior to each use. Do NOT use it if the pen needle appears compromised, tampered with, or otherwise unfit for use. After use, immediately place the used pen needle into a proper sharps disposal container. Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and⁄or supplements are given together. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely. Allergic reactions to medications, supplements, and OTC products may occur. Please inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.
