About this item
DESCRIPTION:

Carprofen is used to relieve inflammation and pain caused by hip dysplasia, arthritis, and other types of joint disease. It also reduces fevers.

Key Benefits: Carprofen, like other NSAID medications, is thought to inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenase to relieve pain and inflammation.

Formulated For: For dogs.

How is Medication Given?

  • Typical recommended oral dosage rate for dogs is 2 mg per pound of body weight each day.
  • The lowest possible dose should be administered for the shortest period of time to achieve the desired response.
  • To control pain after an operation, administer about 2 hours prior to the surgery.
  • Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.
  • Total daily dosage rate may be given as 2 mg per pound of body weight one time daily, or as two doses of 1 mg per pound each.

What Results Can I Expect? Carprofen is useful in relieving the inflammation and pain caused by osteoarthritis, and for controlling post-surgical pain associated with orthopedic and soft tissue procedures in dogs.

What Form Does Medication Come In? Chewable Tablet

Dose and Administration: Chewable tablets are sold individually in strengths of 25, 75, and 100 mg.
