DESCRIPTION:

Simparica is a once-monthly, chewable, and safe flea and tick preventative medication for dogs. It is a prescription product that goes to work rapidly and protects your dog for a full month. It kills fleas within 3 hours and ticks within 8 hours, and it remains effective for as long as 34 days.

    How is Medication Given? Dogs should chew Simparica, not swallow. If you have a dog who tends to swallow treats or tablets whole, the tablet may be broken into many pieces to encourage chewing. Dogs should consume the full dose. If you aren't sure the entire dose was consumed, it is recommended to re-dose.

    What Results Can I Expect? Simparica:

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Chewable Tablet

    Dose and Administration: Sold as a 3-month or 6-month supply (3 or 6 tablets) in six different weight-based strengths.

    Possible Side Effects: The most frequently reported adverse reactions include vomiting or diarrhea. Neurological effects are also possible, such as:

  • Seizures
  • Ataxia (loss of control of body movements)
  • Decreased or absent menace (blinking reflex)
  • Tremors
  • Decreased conscious proprioreception (positional awareness and body movement)

    Precautions Only for use in dogs over 6 months old and weighing more than 2.8 pounds. Never use in cats or humans. Not proven safe for pregnant, breeding, or lactating dogs. Keep away from children and animals.

    Storage Recommendations: Keep tablets temperature below 30 degrees C (86 degrees F) with excursions permitted up to 40 degrees C (104 degrees F).
