DESCRIPTION: Osurnia Otic Gel is a rapidly-acting, easy-to-use treatment for ear inflammation or infection. The single-dose tube is convenient, requiring just 2 treatments in each year (one week apart). It is effective in treating otitis externa associated with a variety of bacteria and yeast strains, such as Staphylococcus Pseudintermedius or Malassezia Pachydermatis.
Key Benefits:
Osurnia contains anbicaterial Florfenicol, antifungal Terbinafine, and steroidal anti-inflammatory Betamethasone Acetate. Florfenicol works by inhibiting protein synthesis, which affects gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Terbinafine selectively inhibits early synthesis of ergosterol. Betamethasone Acetate is a glucocorticoid.
Formulated For: For dogs only.
How is Medication Given?
Clinical administration is recommended. The external ear canal(s) should be cleaned and dried before initial use. Instill a single 1-tube dose in each affected ear, then re-treat 7 days later. Wait 45 days following the first use before cleaning the ear canal. This will ensure thorough contact between the ear canal and the gel. Cleaning can hinder efficacy. When pursuing an alternative therapy, the ear(s) should be cleaned before use. To open the tube, twist the tip. Then, insert this flexible tip into the canal(s) of the affected ear(s). Squeeze to dispense the full contents of the tube into the canal. Gently rub at the base of the treated ear to promote gel penetration into the lower ear canal.
