How is Medication Given? Feed before a meal by combining with a small amount of food. Combine with moistened dry or canned dog food, combining thoroughly so the enzymes can come into close contact with the particles of food. The mixture needs 15 to 20 minutes of room temp incubation to help facilitate proper digestion. Dosage rate should be estimated based upon the animal's body weight and the severity of his or her condition. For cats, feed 1/4 to 3/4 teaspoon before every meal (3 times daily). For dogs, feed 3/4 to 1 teaspoon before every meal (3 times daily).
