    DESCRIPTION

    Ostimax Chewable Tablets contain Deracoxib, an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) that controls inflammation and pain associated with dental or orthopedic surgery, or with canine osteoarthritis.

    Key Benefits:

  • Deracoxib (the active ingredient in Ostimax) is different from other NSAIDs because it blocks COX-2, not COX-1. Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and most other NSAIDs block both of these enzymes.
  • COX-1 produces prostaglandins that are required for many bodily functions, including blood clotting, protection of the stomach lining, and normal kidney function.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Chewable Tablet

    Dose and Administration: Sold in a 30-count or 90-count bottle of tablets in strengths of 12, 25, 75, or 100 mg.

    Possible Side Effects: Some dogs may experience adverse reactions. Severe reactions may occur without or with warning, and they can lead to death in certain cases. The most frequently reported adverse reactions of OstiMax include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Decreased appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Kidney problems
  • Liver problems

    If you observe any of these reactions or any other side effect or medical problem, withdraw treatment and consult your veterinarian right away.

    Precautions: Do not use in dogs who:

  • Are anorexic (have a loss of appetite)
  • Are predisposed to dehydration
  • Have a liver or kidney condition
  • Are experiencing vomit or bloodystools
  • Are taking any other NSAID, corticosteroid, or aspirin (unless approved by your veterinarian)
  • Have had an allergic reaction to any NSAID or Aspirin (reactions could include itchy skin, red skin, facial swelling, or hives)
  • Are allergic to Deracoxib
  • Not for cats.
  • Only for oral administration in dogs.
  • Keep out of reach of animals and children.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry location between 59- 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C). Keep enclosed in original container and out of reach of children.

    In Case of Overdose: Call your nearest emergency pet hospital.
