    DESCRIPTION:

    Clomicalm treats canine separation anxiety using Clomipramine Hydrochloride. When used in conjunction with behavioral modification, these tablets work to eliminate destructive behavior, unwanted defecation or urination, or barking.

    Key Benefits:

  • Clomicalm works by altering brain chemical levels - particularly serotonin.
  • Serotonin is responsible for positive emotion.
  • Upon serotonin release from a neuron, this brain chemical is picked up by an uptake receptor, then recycled.
  • Clomicalm, a tricyclic antidepressant, contains Clomipramine Hydrochloride, which binds to that uptake receptor to prevent it from removing excess serotonin. This increases the positive neural brain signal.

    Formulated For: For dogs older than 6 months.

    How is Medication Given? Orally administer 2 mg-4 mg per kg daily (1 mg-2 mg two times per day). Ensure constant access to water while your dog is taking this medication. Recommended Dosage (Based on Body Weight of Your Dog or Puppy): 11-22 Pounds: 1 Tablet Per Day (20 mg, Blue); 22.1-44 Pounds: 1 Tablet Per Day (40 mg, Purple); 44.1-88 Pounds: 1 Tablet Per Day (80 mg, Green); 88.1-176 Pounds: 2 Tablets Per Day (80 mg, Green)

    Possible Side Effects: Clomicalm is typically tolerated well. However, potential adverse reactions include: Diarrhea, Increased thirst, Lethargy, Vomiting, Depression, Elevated liver enzymes

    Precautions Cautiously and carefully administer to dogs with narrow angle glaucoma, diminished gastrointestinal motility, urinary retention, cardiovascular dysfunction, or epilepsy. Do not administer to a breeding dog. Only use with approval from your veterinarian. Do not administer concomitantly with Preventic collar or Anipryl tablets (Selegiline).

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a dry and cool environment 59 - 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C). Store unused tablets in original container.

    In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic immediately.
