Usage: For additional information, including the manufacturer's recommended Directions for Use, please refer to product label and Package Insert. Vetivex Veterinary Lactated Ringer's Injection should be administered using sterile equipment* and proper aseptic technique, as directed by your veterinarian. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes or discontinuing the prescribed dosing schedule. *Fluid administration will require additional supplies, including needles, an IV infusion (fluid drip) set, and a designated sharps disposal container. These items are not included with this product and must be purchased separately. Please consult your veterinarian to determine the appropriate needle size for your pet.
Missed Doses: Administer the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not administer more than prescribed or two doses at once. If you have any questions regarding fluid administration or your pet's prescribed dosing schedule (such as when, how often, etc.), please contact your veterinarian.
Side Effects: Reactions that may occur because of the solution or the technique of administration include febrile response, infection at the site of injection, venous thrombosis or phlebitis extending from the site of injection, extravasation, and hypervolemia. If an adverse reaction occurs, discontinue administration immediately and contact your veterinarian. Your veterinarian may instruct you to save the remainder of the fluid for examination if deemed necessary. If you notice anything unusual, please consult your veterinarian.
Precautions: *For complete product information, including warnings and safety precautions, please refer to the manufacturer Package Insert. Inspect the product before each use. Do NOT use if the solution has changed in appearance (e.g., color, presence of visible particles). These are signs that the product is no longer fit for use. For animal use only-not for use in humans. Do NOT administer to horses by intraperitoneal injection. Veterinary Lactated Ringer's Injection, USP is NOT intended for use in the treatment of lactic acidosis. This product may not be recommended in animals with congestive heart failure, severe kidney disease/failure, and in patients that have fluid (with sodium) retention. Use with caution in animals with high potassium or calcium levels, liver disease, diminished kidney function, and metabolic or respiratory alkalosis. Do not administer to animals with a known history or suspected allergy/hypersensitivity to this product or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Please inform Vetsource and yourveterinarian if your pet has any known sensitivities or allergies, especially to medications and supplements. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; and widespread hives or itching.
Drug & Food Interactions: Caution must be exercised in the administration of Veterinary Lactated Ringer´s Injection, USP to patients receiving corticosteroids or corticotropin. While there are no other documented drug or food interactions with this product, potential interactions may still be possible. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when multiple medications and/or supplements are given together. Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications, supplements, and over-the-counter (OTC) products that your pet is currently using. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.

Storage: Exposure of pharmaceutical products to heat should be minimized. Avoid excessive heat. Store in the moisture barrier overwrap at a controlled room temperature (77°F); brief exposure up to 104°F does not adversely affect the product. Keep in a secure location out of the reach of children and pets. Exposure to extreme temperatures or moisture may affect the integrity and effectiveness of medications, supplements, and other products. Always store this product properly (e.g., away from the bathroom, kitchen sink, or other damp places).
