DESCRIPTION:

Felimazole is an FDA-approved, coated tablet for the treatment of hyperthyroidism in cats. It contains an antithyroid ingredient called Methimazole, which reduces the thyroid gland's production of T3 and T4.

    Dose and Administration: Tablets are sold individually in strengths of 2.5 and 5 mg.

    Possible Side Effects: Potential non-severe side effects are possible. If you observe these signs, continue administering the medication and consult your veterinarian:

  • Dizziness
  • Mild Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Itching
  • Muscle Pain
  • Joint Pain
  • Nerve Pain
  • Swelling

    If your pet shows any of the following signs of an allergic reaction, withdraw use and pursue emergency treatment:

  • Trouble Breathing
  • Swollen Lips
  • Swollen Tongue
  • Swollen Face
  • Hives
  • If you observe any of these side effects or any other unusual signs, consult your veterinarian.

    Precautions: If you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are nursing, use gloves to handle the tablets or the litter or bodily fluid of the treated cat.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry location.
