    About this item
    DESCRIPTION:

SEMINTRA contains Telmisartan, the only medication approved by the FDA to control hypertension in cats. This easy-to-administer, prescription liquid formula is intended to offer effective and safe long-term high blood pressure control. The convenient dosing syringe makes administration easy and accurate. Feline hypertension can be hard to treat, and when it's not diagnosed and treated, it can affect vital organs (such as the heart, brain, eyes, and kidneys). This medication is an effective but simple solution for cats and their parents.

    Key Benefits:

  • Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) boast a target, unique mode of action, which specifically works to block dangerous vasoconstrictive effects of the RAAS (renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system).
  • This medication works fast to lower feline blood pressure, offering clinical results within just 2 weeks.
  • It is effective in cats who have secondary or primary hypertension, and it is proven effective and safe.

Formulated For: For use in cats

    How is Medication Given?

  • Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.
  • Recommended initial dosage rate is 1.5 mg per kg of body weight (0.68 mg per pound) administered orally two times per day for a 14-day period. Thereafter, the recommended dosage rate is 2 mg per kg (0.91 mg per pound) once per day.
  • You may reduce the dose by 0.5 mg per kg (or 0.23 mg per pound) at a time until a minimum dose (0.5 mg per kg or 0.23 mg per pound) is administered daily for hypotension caused by SEMINTRA use.
  • Administer directly into the animal's mouth, offered on top of a small portion of food, or fed next to food. Never mix into your pet's food.
  • Administer with the included dosing syringe, which fits onto the bottle and is marked in 0.1 mL increments. Round the dose to the closest 0.1 mL.
  • Following use, tightly close the bottle cap, then rinse the syringe with water and allow to air dry.
  • If your cat vomits within 30 minutes of administration, re-dose.
