    DESCRIPTION

    Metoprolol XL Tablets may be used alone or together with other medications to treat blood pressure conditions. It is also useful in treating heart attacks and preventing angina (chest pain).

    Possible Side Effects:

  • Metoprolol is safe and effective when administered with a prescription from a veterinarian. However, side effects maystill occur.
  • Rarely, animals have fainted after taking this medication. If this occurs, emergency treatment should be pursued.
  • Slow heart rate or low blood pressure could occur, causing weakness.

    Precautions:

  • Never administer to a pet with known hypersensitivity or allergy to this drug.
  • Administer cautiously to pets with congestive heart failure.
  • Inform your veterinarian about all other medications you are giving your pet. Certain drugs can interact with Metoprolol, such as Furosemide, Insulin, and calcium channel blockers.
