DESCRIPTION

Diltiazem HCL is the generic alternative to Cardizem. It is useful in treating cardiomyopathy, which is a condition that causes stiffness and inflexibility of the heart muscle. This decreases the heart chamber size.

  • Diltiazem is used to cause vasodilatation.
  • This is useful in slowing the sinus firing rate, decreasing peripheral resistance, decreasing blood pressure, and decreasing cardiac afterload.
