    DESCRIPTION

    Derma-Vet Ointment (generic Dermalone) is used to treat feline and canine interdigital cysts, anal gland infections in dogs, and many kinds of acute or chronic otitis. This product is the generic alternative to Panalog.

    Key Benefits: Derma-Vet Ointment contains 4 active ingredients:

  • Triamcinolone Acetonide: This synthetic, potent corticosteroid delivers rapid and long-term symptom relief upon topical application. It helps heal lesions and quickly reduce inflammation, edema, and pruritus.
  • Nystatin: This antibiotic is a well-tolerated ingredient with antifungal properties. It is useful in treating Monilia (Candida Albicans)-related cutaneous infection.
  • Thiostrepton: This ingredient combats gram-positive bacteria, which are commonly resistant to other antibiotics.
  • Neomycin: This antimicrobial ingredient works to tackle a broad range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

    Together, these ingredients give Derma-Vet anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antifungal, and antibacterial benefits.

    What Results Can I Expect? Derma-Vet Ointment is used to treat ear infections (acute otitis) in cats and dogs and to treat anal gland infections in dogs.

    Dose and Administration: Sold in tubes containing 7.5 mL, 15 mL, 30 mL, or 240 mL.

    Possible Side Effects: Potential side effects include:

  • During otitis treatment, transient hearing loss (which is often resolved through drug withdrawal)
  • Elevated SAP enzymes
  • Elevated SGPT enzymes
  • Weight loss
  • Anorexia
  • Polydipsia
  • Polyuria
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea (sometimes bloody)
