DESCRIPTION: Atropine Sulfate Ophthalmic Solution is an eye solution that relieves pain in the eye(s). It dilates the pupils, which helps reduce eye pain associated with injuries, corneal disease, corneal ulcers, and uveal disease. It is also sometimes prescribed for the treatment of secondary glaucoma.
Key Benefits:
Atropine affects the parasympathetic nervous system of pets. It blocks the transmission of acetylcholine, a chemical that excites or inhibits certain activities, such as pupil dilation and constriction. Atropine works to paralyze the muscle of the iris sphincter, which causes dilated pupils.
