DESCRIPTION: Famotidine Tablets are used to treat stomach, gastric, and intestinal ulcers. It can also be used to trets the stomach inflammation and reflux associated with kidney failure. It is a generic Pepcid alternative.

Famotidine is a histamine receptor-2 blocking medication that stimulates the cells. and cell membranes of the stomach. It does this due to H-2 receptors, which are responsible for secretion of gastric acid. This anti-ulcer medication works to heal ulcers by preventing this acid secretion through H-2 receptors.

How is Medication Given?
If you accidentally miss giving a dose, adminster it as soon as you remember (provided that it is later in the same day the dose was missed). If the next regularly scheduled dose is due soon, or if it is the following day, resume the regular schedule and skip the dose you missed. Never administer two doses simultaneously. Typical dosing recommendation is 0.25-0.5 mg for every pound of body weight administered at 12- to 24-hour intervals.

Precautions:
Talk to your veterinarian before administering Famotidine to your pet. Administer cautiously to pregnant pets or those with heart, liver, or kidney disease. Drug interactions are possible when administered concomitantly with Digoxin or Ketoconazole. Never administer to a hypersensitive or allergic animal.
Storage Recommendations: Refrigeration is required between 36 degrees F - 46 degrees F (2 degrees C and 8 degrees C). If the solution freezes, bring to room temperature; allow sufficient time to solubilize all the components.
In Case of Overdose: Contact the nearest emergency pet clinic immediately. Overdose occurences are rare, symptoms may include vomiting, pale gums, rapid heart rate, restlessness, or collapse.
