    DESCRIPTION

    Glipizide is a medication that lowers blood sugar levels in diabetic cats.

    How is Medication Given?

  • For cats, administer a dose of 2.5-5 mg two times each day.

    Possible Side Effects: Potential adverse reactions include:

  • Inappetence, which can be especially dangerous in diabetic cats. If your cat is disinterested infood, inform your veterinarian at once.
  • Nausea or inappetence (which can typically be lessened when dosed with food)
  • Hypoglycemia, which occurs in approximately 15% of cats on this medication. Cats should be monitored for this reason.

    Precautions: Keep away from children and animals.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry location at room temperature.
