    About this item
    DESCRIPTION:

Silver Sulfadiazine Cream is useful in preventing or treating severe infections, and it is often used to treat second- or third-degree burns.

    Key Benefits:

  • The exact mode of action of Silver Sulfadiazine is unproven, but it is known to deliver broad-spectrum antimicrobial benefits.
  • Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus are two bacteria that are susceptible to this medication.
  • This cream prevents infection in penetrating burns, and the moisture from the cream relieves the itchiness that often comes with healing.

Formulated For: Intended for cats and dogs.

    How is Medication Given?

  • Wound dressings should be changed in a closed room with no or low circulation of air. This will prevent wound or cream contamination.
  • To administer, first cut the dressing to an appropriate size. Use a sterile instrument to apply the cream to the gauze. A disposable or sterile instrument should be used every time. A sufficient amount of cream should be used to completely cover the wound at a thickness of 1/16-inch.
  • After applying to a fresh wound, the cream could turn brown. This is normal.

What Results Can I Expect? Silver Sulfadiazine Cream works to prevent infections in burn wounds, relieves itch, and combats Escherichia Coli and Staphylococcus infections.
