About this item
DESCRIPTION:

Profender for Cats is a topical liquid medication that prevents roundworms and tapeworms. It is a convenient and easy-to-apply spot-on formula.

Key Benefits:

  • Profender is carried to the bloodstream through the cat's hair follicles.
  • It finds its way. to the cat's intestine, then begins controlling and treating tapeworm, roundworm, and hookworm infections.
  • Emodepside, a semi-synthetic depsipeptide compound, combats roundworms and hookworms (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina, and Ancylostoma tubaeforme.
  • At the neuromuscular junction, Emodepside stimulates secretin receptor presynaptic receptors, which causes parasite paralysis and eventual death.
  • Praziquantel is a pyrazine isoquinoline derivative that combats Dipylidium caninum, Echinococcus multilocularis, and Taenia taeniaeformis tapeworms.
  • The surface of the parasite readily absorbs Praziquantel, which alters the Ca++ permeability of the parasite's membranes.
  • This leads to disruption of metabolism, contraction, paralysis, parasite integument damage, and eventual death of the parasite.

Formulated For: For cats weighing 2.2 lbs to 17.6 lbs
