Profender for Cats is a topical liquid medication that prevents roundworms and tapeworms. It is a convenient and easy-to-apply spot-on formula.

  • At the neuromuscular junction, Emodepside stimulates secretin receptor presynaptic receptors, which causes parasite paralysis and eventual death.
  • Praziquantel is a pyrazine isoquinoline derivative that combats Dipylidium caninum, Echinococcus multilocularis, and Taenia taeniaeformis tapeworms.

    How is Medication Given? Administer 12 mg of Praziquantel and 3 mg of Emodepside (0.14 mL of Profender) for every kg of animal's body weight.

    What Results Can I Expect? Profender for cats is the first, only broad-spectrum, topical feline dewormer that works to treat and control hookworm, roundworm, and tapeworm infections. The single-dose, convenient treatment is for use in cats who have or are at high risk of the following parasitic infections:

  • Echinococcus multilocularis (adult)
  • Taenia taeniaeformis (adult)
  • Dipylidium caninum (adult)
  • Tapeworms (cestodes)
  • Ancylostoma tubaeforme (L4, immature adult, and mature adult)
  • Toxascaris leonina (L4, immature adult, and mature adult)
  • Toxocara cati (L3, (L4, immature adult, and mature adult)
  • Roundworms (nematodes)

    What Form Does Medication Come In?Liquid, Spot-On

    Dose and Administration: Sold as a single dose in three weight-based strengths: 0.35 mL for Cats 2.2 to 5.5 Pounds (Green); 0.7 mL for Cats 5.5 to 11 Pounds (Orange); 1.12 mL for Cats 11 to 17.6 Pounds (Purple)

    Precautions: Do not administer orally or parenterally. Never allow a treated cat (or any other animal in the home) to lick the site of application until the product has completely dried.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry location.

    In Case of Overdose: Call your nearest emergency animal hospital.
