Mollies are members of the genus Poeciliidae or the order Cyprinodontiformes. In the wild they are usually found in brackish or marine water, but these fish are extremely adaptable and can handle most any water conditions. Mollies are great community fish and give live birth. It is recommended to have a group with multiple females, as the males continually court the females. Mollies can be found in extreme conditions but often a little salt might be needed for optimum health.
