GloFish are not dyed, they possess a natural fluorescence gene and their color won't fade. They absorb light and re-emit it which creates the impression that they are glowing. GloFish were developed by adding a natural fluorescence gene to a zebra danio egg. The offspring incorporated the gene and continued to pass it down to its own offspring.

GloFish are hardy, community fish that get along well with other fish species, but be careful when combining other fish with GloFish, as not all fish are friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get 2 in every color! I started a black light tank and got Neon Tetras and GloFish! I love to watch them play tag, chase and have fun. They are all very vibrant except for the blue. They have to be right under the black light to be vibrant. I feed them tropical flakes. I would recommend GloFish for anyone!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best fish Very Pretty especially without the aquarium light on. The don't die from missing tank cleanings like other fish do. I have 2 now but I have owned 5 and all except one lasted a year or are almost a year. Only had one bad one that past away the day after we got him but petsmart took it back and gave us another and this time he was a baby and still living after a long time of having him

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hardy, colorful fish I got four of these and two zebra danios to start cycling my tank, and they have been wonderful. They are colorful and energetic and seem to be able to handle my mess ups as I figure out how to take care of my tank properly. They haven't missed a beat and love chasing each other and swimming through the rocks and plants. I'd highly recommend these fish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They are always together I bought a blue glofish named Fondue and a yellow glofish named Merkurdeez. They always swim together and really light up the tank! They love playing at the waterfall and try to swim through it together. At first, they were so busy playing that they didn't notice the food! They'll do anything to get back together. Once, they got separated. When they just saw each other, my guppy Sunii swam between them and nearly got ran over! These fellows are so interesting to watch and fun!
