Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rescued puppy Bony no more My puppy came to me in December of last year eating what was said to be a good quality food. I didn't think it was. He was scrawny and not gaining, oh and not to mention excreting often a not so healthy sample. I started him on this food and immediately noticed his coat changing to losing less hair, his bony figure was filling out quite nicely(I must add that he was charted for 1.5 cups but vet has me giving 1 Cup 2x daily. He looks great and is very active. He is alert, and in a sense hyper. My only regret is that I feel he just might need a bit more to maintain his energy level but I erfuse to add to his diet as he is suplemented with treats through the day and his occasional PB kong treating. Love the product. Love the comapny. They have been more than generous with their time, advice, and savings. Thank you Iams. No more skin and bones yet well within healthy fit for breed and age.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Will return I bought this dog food and did not read the ingredients first. I will return and choose another Iams product. I don't want to feed my dog food that is mostly corn meal. I want something that is mostly meat, fruit and some veggies. This dog food has listed corn meal as the first ingredient, so I know that is what it is mainly made of. I know you have products with meat listed first, and I will select one of those even if they are not for over weight dogs. I not unhappy with Iams, but wish I had taken time to read the ingredients.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ONLY food that agrees with our Plott Hound Our Plott Hound Teka is 7 months old now, but over her first few months we were feeding her chicken, rice, carrots, kale because we could not find a dry food that agreed with her (Kirkland, Taste of the Wild, Canidae). She would have diarrhea after introducing any other dry food. Then we read reviews on Iams Smart Puppy and decided to give it a try. Now after a month of slowly introducing Smart Puppy and it becoming 90% of her food, she is doing great. She even acts happier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Contradictory feeding guidelines feeding amounts on the package do not match the feeding guidelines on the webpage. so what is the deal here???

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frequent changes to packaging I had been feeding my dog Iams Proactive Health Weight Control because of the low fat content. it has been working well for her for a few years. The packaging has changed twice recently which causes me anxiety. I wish the website would make a note of this when it occurs. The most recent change is to the name: Optimal Weight. It appears the ingredients are almost the same, but my dog did have some digestive issues with the new bag including colitis. I will not be buying Iams again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great results My large mix breed, Lola has been losing at least two pounds per month. Not too much or too little for her health and exercise level. Her vet is very happy.
