Rated 4 out of 5 by KaylaCoolata from A good alternative to clay litters We have been using about 60 lbs. of Blue's Multi-cat clumping litter per month for our household of 7 cats for about a year now. It's a great alternative to clay litters because our humans and cats all benefit from not having to inhale the dust from silica or clay litters. Made from walnut shells, it has a nice earthy scent and tracks less on our hardwood floors than the other litters. One major surprise benefit was that our senior female kitty had been plagued with a health concern for many years and our vet could not even figure it out. The pads on her feet looked like cement and they were very painful for her to walk on. Since using Blue's litter made from walnut shells, Serena's foot pads have all cleared up and she has become much more active, lighter on her feet and is visably happier overall. Let's face it, ALL litter tracks and this is not an exception, but we all feel that Blue's litter is far superior for many other health benefits and we're sticking with it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by missbusanbeth from Love it overall This is a love-it-or-hate-it litter. I have 5 cats, with 2 boxes that I clean daily. Full disclosure: this litter does track really badly. Worse than the "regular" litter because it's more fine. That being said, I'd rather walk on dust that's been tracked out than the huge grains of Tidy Cats that my cats used to drag out. I think it covers the urine smell remarkably well, which is my favorite thing about it. It does take a while to clump, but once it does it clumps well. My biggest frustration with my old litter was that scooping it always got globs of dirty litter on the scooper so I was constantly having to clean it off. Not so with this litter. And those clumps of litter that get in the corner of the box that you can never quite get out all the way? Not a problem now. This litter isn't perfect, but I do think it's superior to Tidy Cats and Arm & Hammer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bluetree3 from It works but it gets everywhere!!! I really wanted to like this product; it's all natural, has a great walnut smell, not too bad on the clumping. But, not only does it track (and I've put down anti tracking mats) - the worst part is the brown dust gets EVERYWHERE!!!! Wherever you keep your letterbox- for me it's a small laundry room- you can be rest assured everything will be covered in brown dust in no time. It gets in the cats fur, it turns their bedding brown (luckily it washed out on a long wash cycle), it will even coat the outside of your litter genie. What's baffling is that it doesn't appear dusty- not when poured, not when scooped, not when kicked around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bonnie123 from Natural fresh cat litter I love this product. My cat has asthma so I decided to try this litter. Their box never stinks (I have two cats) and it lasted three times longer than the other litter I was using. Usually I use three times the litter and change the litter completely three times to one of this litter. One of my cats is a year old maine coon, who weighs apprx. 20 lbs. and is apprx. 38 in. tall, so you can imagine how much waste he generates! The other cat is an old buddy and he probably has kidney failure and urinates apprx. seven times in a 24 hour period. Yes, I am very picky about my litter and keep it as clean as possible. The only thing I am unhappy about is I can not buy it online, and I live apprx. 65 miles from the nearest pet smart. That makes it inconvenient for me. Please start selling this online, as I and my cats are hooked on this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by twpenguin from I, and my cats, love this litter The dark color may take a little getting used to but with no added scent, it seems to control odor, it has minimal dust (though your cat's paws will have some dark coloring right after using the box), it tracks about the same as other minimal tracking litters AND... it's the BEST at clumping that I have ever used!! (I don't count any of the clay ones because I refuse to use clay litter but I doubt any clay litter clumps better than this.) Because of the great clumping, it lasts forever. I did some mixing with my other litter to get the cats used to it but they never really seemed to care so I was 100% with this in no time. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crllnn from Wonderful Litter I switched to this when in first came out and loved it. You don't have all the dust you get with the clay litter. I hated having a layer of dust on everything. It clumps really well as well as controls the smell well except when my cats don't cover their business. I have a long haired cat and the clay litter would get stuck in the fur near her butt. I never have had a problem with this litter doing that with her. The only problem is it turns the white part of her feet brown till she cleans herself. Make sure to change out the whole litter box every 3-4 weeks or it will stop clumping as well as it does when you first put in fresh litter. This litter is wonderful and I recommend this to everyone I know who owns cats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Remia from Great Litter My asthma is fairly well controlled and has been for years but I found that ammonia was one thing that could trigger an attack. Most litters, I have found, after just one week can have a strong ammonia smell which was triggering my asthma every time I went to clean the litter box for the full change I did weekly. For a while I was trying different brands, and any alternative I could to find something that could be used for my kitties that would not trigger an asthma attack. I tried various clay litters, silicon litter, and corn cob based litter. Finally I tried the walnut litter. I haven't looked back since. I can clean the litter box for it's full litter change every week without having to use my inhaler after. To me, that is amazing. The only downsides I have found with the litter is the dust which stays in my kitties white paws making them brownish at times and the fact it takes longer for poo smells to go away. Of course, those are things I am willing to put up with if it means no asthma attacks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maxxcatt from The best litter that I have found! I have 8 cats and am constantly checking market for litter supplies and litter. This is by far the best litter that i have found. The odor control is exceptional. My only criticism is that it is not 100% dust free. This is the best that I have found!

Is this product made from English or Black Walnut shells? How dusty is it ?
Asked by: helen t
It says it’s not dusty but that’s not true. It was so dusty I had to stop using it and switch brands. You get a dust cloud in your face when you change or clean the litter and coats nearby furniture. It also tracks all over.

Do you recommend this or any other brands for the Self cleaning LITTERMAID? Understanding that litters must have certain superior elements unlike regular litters. Looking for the littermaid brand which you don’t carry. Thanks.
