Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Recommend My cat suffered from urinary tract blockage in August and it was a very traumatic experience for the both of us. (Urinary tract blockage is very serious and results in death if not treated right away). After almost a week's stay at the vet and $1,000+ bill, Louie was put on a prescription diet for the first month after his blockage. After doing A LOT of research, and taking the advice of my vet, I decided it would be in my best interest to feed Lou an all wet food diet for the rest of his life (he was previously eating all dry, which is what caused the blockage). After he finished his (very expensive) prescription diet, I ultimately decided on the Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Health Formula. My cat has not had any issues since and has no problems eating this food at all. He loves it. For urinary health, I've personally found this to be the best choice for a couple of reasons; it's the most affordable and my cat likes it. In regards to the reviewer who said her cat is going to the bathroom all over.. That's normal behavior if your cat has a UTI, it has nothing to do with the food. My cat (who NEVER goes to the bathroom outside of his box) went multiple times outside of his box when he was recovering from his blockage. It took him more than a month until he was back to his normal self. In the end, I highly recommend this product if your cat has had issues with urinary tract health. I only wish they would carry more in stock. I clear the shelves on my monthly visit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT product Have a cat very prone to UTI's and stone formation....had been feeding prescription food and he suddenly stopped eating it altogether. Finding this food was a godsend - cheaper than prescription and he loves it. Has been eating it for over a year with no problems at all....highly recommend. As with other reviewers - wish it came in more than one flavor as I like to give him different flavors as a treat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cat(s) Love it! After finding out my newest (now 4 year old) cat had a urinary problems, lots of crystals. He was eating vet wet food which he really didn't care for. Alot was wasted. I love that these are smaller cans. Still pricey even with the cheap price. Please Purina don't take this line away. No other company has an OTC product for UTH in wet. My other cat who is gosh over the age of 10 also likes to eat the left overs, lol. I would definitely recommend this product if you have cats with this problem. When I run out of dry food, I will buy a bag of dry in this same line. Thanks Purina!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All 3 cats love love love it! My cats love the Purina Pro for Urinary Tract Health but since I have 3 cats who eat it, I'm going through 4 cans a day. I wish the cans were bigger than the 3oz size. And yes, I agree with those who wish to have other flavors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MIRACLE FOOD! My 11 month old Ragdoll was recently diagnosed with crystals in his urinary tract and a UTI. The vet had put him on several medications that lasted two weeks. NOTHING worked. His urine was still blood-tinged and he was in and out of the litter box every other minute. I took him to another vet who told me to take him off of dry food and to try wet food ONLY. As I did my research, I've found that Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Health had excellent reviews so I gave it a try for him. The very next day after giving him a can that night and a can in the morning, his symptoms completely disappeared! I couldn't believe it. I took him to the vet a week later and he was clear of his UTI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great taste and convenient Thank you Pro Plan for making a great tasting UTI cat food without the headache and cost of having to make a special trip to the vet every time my cat needed food. My Chance loves the taste. Not crazy expensive as I do cat rescue, and every dime goes to either cat food or litter for my rescues and fosters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pro Plan Urinary Chicken Recently adopted at nine year old kittie and was told to feed him food made for cats with history of cistisis. He loves Pro Plan Urinary Chicken and seems to be thriving so far. Wish there were other flavors.

What’s the difference in Purina pro canned cat food and Royal Canin or Hills?

Asked by: Zumba
Do a comparison, read the labels and look at the price. See the difference? Plus you need a vet prescription to buy Royal Canin.
