Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have a 17 year old tabby with Kidney issues. She was on low protein canned food only for 2 years. Recently, she wasn't eating as well and had lost weight. She had always preferred dry food. The Vet suggested this food. There was some transition stomach issues, but after a few days, she had no problems eating it. She likes the food and has gained her weight back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Life Saver My 13 year old cat was losing weight. The vet diagnosed her with kidney disease and said she might only live a month or more. He prescribed Hills KD cat food. She loves the dry food and began putting some of her weight back on. She's been eating it for 6 months now and continues to thrive. It's expensive, but my cat is well worth the extra cost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as Described, Cats Like It My older cat has early stage kidney disease and pancreatitis, so the vet recommended I start feeding her this along with fish oil supplements. He assured me it was complete nutrition, so it's find for both my cats to eat every day long term. Great news, since I have no desire to try to convince my cats to stick to their own bowls! It's a little pricey, especially considering my younger cat eats so much and has no health issues, but it's worth it. I knew upon opening the bag it would be a hit because it's so oily and stinky. The cats love it! My older cat had blood work done a couple weeks after starting on this diet, and her numbers for pancreatitis are significantly improved. She also seems back to her old self again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from He refused to eat it. :( I had a cat develop chronic kidney failure and after treatment at the vet's they recommended a prescription diet. So, I bought this rx renal food and he refused to eat it. I would leave him with just this food and he would just starve himself. He didn't like the canned version much better. Luckily since I got the food at Petsmart I was able to take it back and get my money back to try some other foods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cat loves this food and she is very picky My cat, Sofia, loves this food! She is very picky and easily refuses food she doesn't like. For example, she refuses to eat any cat food in a can; however, she loves tuna in pure vegetable oil. Every morning, she eats her tuna completely. During the day, she loves eating this Kidney Care. After one month of eating this food, she is throwing up less often. Despite the expense, it is worth it for her health. Sofia is only 8 years old.
