For someone that fish a lot for regular catfish, it's nice to see a miniature one in the tank.

these 2 guys are constantly on the move around the bottom of the tank. They wiggle their tales as they move around like little puppies. Sometimes they swim fast to the top and actually break water so you will definitely keep covered tank. They get along with everyone and generally stick together.

We honestly have no idea where they came from, probably the plant's we put in our aquarium. But a huge amount of Pest Snails started to make their way into my aquarium until they were everywhere. The main reason they had to go was because when they die they put diseases into our water. Anyways, a Emerald CoryCat made his way into the aquarium and ate all the snails eggs, in no time the huge snail population was completely gone, it was amazing! He died about a month after he did all the pest control which saved our aquarium, his name was Flipper.

I have two of these little guys and I am so glad I got them. Even with regular cleanings my aquarium substrate never looked very good because of all the fish flakes and fish waste stuck in it. I had very limited tank space in my almost fully stocked 10 gallon aquarium but I needed some fish to help clean my substrate so I headed to my local Petsmart and found a very small species of catfish. It is called a Julii Catfish and it only gets 2 inches....perfect for my little aquarium. As soon as I got them home and released them into my tank after letting the bag float in the water for a little over 10 minutes to my delight my catfish began to clean all of the scraps out of my gravel. Now my gravel is extremely stunning and my tank looks 10 times better then it did. And yes, they are adorable and it is so funny when all of a sudden they will swim up to the top of the tank and then swim down and repeat. They also are very pretty and don't have any diseases or sicknesses. At first when they would just lounge around it would scare me into thinking they were sick but then I just came to realize that this was normal behavior for them and it wasn't like they were my zippy neon tetras. Overall great little guys and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND for tanks 10 gallons and over so great and so helpful one of the best cleaning fish out there. (Be sure to get more than one since they are social and won't do well without a companion. Also remember catfish can't live completely on fish leftovers so also get a bag of algae wafers.)
