I like this heater, but I would says it is a little bulky. I use the 10w in my 2.5 gallon tank. It always keeps the water between 80-83 degrees. It's perfect for my bettas :)

by BigBoss 25W Works Great in my 2.5 Gal Tank
5/7/15 I bought this for my National Geographic Half Moon 2.5 gal tank from Petsmart and it fits perfectly with plenty of space above the gravel and beneath the water surface. It works great and its been keeping my temperature at 79F constantly for my betta. I will update this review if any problems appear though, but so far so good.

My heater only heats my 1gallon 2oz. tank to between 72-75 degree. This is a dud, it's never gets up to 76, 77 or 80. I'm take it back.

I bought 2 of these and they keep both of my betta tanks at 80F. The biggest tank I'd use this in for a betta is a 3 gallon. This will not heat up larger tanks. If you have a 5+gallon, I recommend getting a 50 watt heater. I don't even know why they have a 10 watt available as the only thing that could possibly heat is a bowl or vase of some sort and it is NOT SAFE to heat anything smaller than 2.5 gallons, not to mention anything smaller is a suitable home for about no fish out there.
