Our boxer puppy has very short, very thin fur around the top of her nose and started getting a nasty sunburn there. We talked to the vet, and they recommended a doggie sunscreen. This was the only brand and only one bottle was available at our store, and the clear top was caked on the inside with the dried out sunscreen where it had been squirted or leaked. We bought it anyways, and when we got it home it was really runny and made a real mess trying to put on a squirming 4 month 30lbs puppy! It also holds any dirt that she gets into within the first few minutes of applying. All the same, it does what it is supposed to do, and her little nose is no longer getting red or blistered :) I would recommend it for small areas prone to sunburn, but I wouldn't recommend it for doggies prone to sunburn all over!

We had our Bichon/Shitzu/Poodle mix's hair cut very short at the beginning of last summer. I was told since she is very white she would burn if she was in the sun for any period of time and that I needed to use sunblock on her.
Being a paranoid mom I immediately went into Petsmart and purchased the only doggy sunscreen available, this stuff! It is thick chalky feeling liquid, like your mom bought at the dollar store when she ran out and need it in a pinch.
I had to immediately bathe my dog after she had just come home from the groomer since we went out for a walk and I tried this stuff out on her. It was a miserable experience to say the least.
