Just purchased this harness on 8/14/2016, broken already. Associate showed my husband and I how to place the harness on our furbaby, in less than a week the bottom strap has broken. This harness was expensive, but not very durable, not what I expect from a Kong product.

I will be returning this tomorrow. I tried it on in the store and it fit plus I had someone help me adjust it. But when I took him on a walk, the thing kept sliding down to his side. I tried so many times to fix it, but no dice. It is too heavy for my chihuahua-italian greyhound mix for a two block walk. I am sure it would work for a bigger dog, but not this.

by NDFanatik Great for my rescue dog!
We recently adopted a very neglected hound. She was so scared and skittish, that we knew we would have a difficult time training her well. Needless to say, she had no leash training and would jump at any movement or sound so we opted for a halter. This one is nice and cushioned and we have been able to keep it one her 24/7 so help with training. The handle on the back has been incredibly useful, allowing me to handle, steer, and even steady her when she is in an anxious or fearful state. We have gone from complete non-use of harness & leash to being able to walk her around in public. The companion leash to this is very handy as well, but this harness has held up & definitely given me my money's worth, even with constant use.
I took away 1 star for one reason- the adjustment part of the harness does not hold very strongly. I don't personally mind it, but I do have to check the fit 1-2 times a week to make sure it's not coming loose. There has been one situation where I didn't check it and she slipped from the harness. Please make sure to check that it is snug, especially before outings if your dog is a runner.

My first purchase of the Kong Comfort Harness with Traffic Loop was about 15 years ago. Not only was it comfortable for my black Labrador retriever but it was attractive (in the red color) and a great value!
Fast forward to 2011 to our second black Labrador. We got him from the local Animal Control shelter and it was apparent from the get-go that he had never been socialized, and he had no idea how to walk on a leash. Unfortunately, after the death of our first Lab, we had given away the original red harness so we invested in this harness again, only in blue this time. The Large fits him like a dream and he is so easy to handle while wearing it!
We have had no challenges with wear and tear as we only use the harness when we are going "bye-bye". And as the instructions clearly indicate, this harness is not for 24/7/365 use. And it most definitely should not to be left where the dog can get ahold of it in order to chew it to smithereens, which from some of the "low-score" reviews looks as if that is exactly what happened.
My only wish is that this harness would come in an X-Large as my sister has a rather large PitBull/Chocolate Labrador mix and I'm not sure that the Large is going to fit him ... however, I am going to order the Large in red and see if it indeed does fit him!
I will never, and I mean NEVER purchase a different harness than this Kong comfort harness with traffic loop!
