This Cat Attract litter is wonderful. Our geriatric (age 20+) kitty has thyroid disease, which we treat with Hill's y/d food exclusively. However, she wees a lot, and at age 20 is sometimes confused by small changes in the house, and had started trying to "go" in our large potted trees. We realized she was unhappy with her current litter and unhappy with the dogs disturbing her special place. We put up a baby gate which she can pass thru, but also changed to this litter which she LOVES. She actually wanted to sleep in the litter box for the first few days (yikes!), so now I mix it 60% strength with other regular brand. Cat Attract litter (and also the little brochure of helpful hints) have improved her long life. She's had the thyroid problem for more than 6 years and still a happy kitty. Yes, it is worth the extra cost to have a civilized home and to help our old girl in being easier to live with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KristinB Just what I was hoping for...
My 6 year old female has always been timid, nervous and easily afraid of many things...w/in the last year she began sporadically urinating outside of the litter box (luckily nowhere else in the house). I took her to the vet to get tests ran to see if there was something wrong, but everything came back ok...so we're assuming it's some sort of stress in the house. I was using the Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh Multi-cat litter for years because it was less dusty and didn't have the "litter" smell...but w/ her new issue she was having, I tried Tidy Cat just to switch it up and hated the smell. A coworker of mine told me about Cat Attract and #knock on wood#, not one issue since I started using it a week ago. I have also started using the Hills Prescription C/D "Stress" wet & dry food from the vet #expensive!#...but hopefully w/ the litter & food combo, it will solve this issue! I've also been taking time out to play w/ her more #although both cats are spoiled & there's no lack of love in the house by any means#. Cat Attract doesn't have a scent, at least that I notice, and I love that! I hate walking into my house & immediately smelling litter. It clumps suprisingly well also & isn't very dusty. I would recommend it to anyone w/ similar issues. I paid $30 for a 40lb bag of it and for as much as it cost, if it stops the issue, I will continue to pay for it!

This is a great product. We adopted the sweetest cat 6 weeks ago; she is a hugger, she'll literally put her arms around your neck while she nuzzles. But a third of the time, she was going outside the litter box. We tried fancy new litter boxes but nothing worked. A few days ago, I started using Cat Attract. I also took the lids off the boxes as suggested. Since then, she has only gone in her litter boxes. This litter has saved my carpets! Highly recommended.

I have had trouble with my daughter’s female cat eliminating outside the litter box since we got her as a kitten. She is now almost 3. I was so upset because the cat would go out of her way to walk around the litter box and #2 behind it. I then learned she was sneaking into the basement and eliminating on the concrete floor. Mind you, a litter box was right there. As upsetting and frustrating as it was, I dealt with it. But when I closed off the basement, I realized that she was not using the litter box to urinate as well. I was beside myself. She ruined lots of carpet and caused lots of scrubbing of a concrete floor. Needless to say, this cat created turmoil between me and my daughter as I asked my teenage daughter to either work with the cat or find her a new home. Health problems were ruled out and I tried many different brands of litter. You name it; we tried it, to include plain clay litter. Nothing worked. I was determined to try everything possible to help this cat before I found it a new home. As a last attempt, I went to the pet store one evening and found Cat Attract. I bought a new litter box, put it in a new area (bathroom) and filled with this litter. I picked the cat up several times throughout the day and placed her in the litter box. I praised her, gave her treats. Would go as far as sitting in the bathroom with her, door closed and would pick her up and put her in the litter box and hold her there a few minutes while talking in a soothing voice... She would jump out, I would pet her and talk nice to her and do it again, usually about five minutes(which seemed like a long time) It took some coaxing and the first time she did #2, I praised her and gave her treats. We then graduated to both #1 and #2 in the litter box (although she does not cover #2 that will be a later lesson.)
I love this litter; however, it is pricey. Also happy that it is for the most part dust free and it clumps well.
I strongly encourage you to try this product if you are having extreme elimination issues with your cat. With a little patience and determination, I do believe you can train your cat to use the litter box.
